PropPin

Privacy policy

Last updated: 8 July 2026

PropPin (propp.in) is a map-based property marketplace. Our core privacy promise is simple: your phone number and email stay private by default — people reach you through in-app chat, and you decide if and when to share direct contact details.

What we collect

  • Account: when you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We use this to create your account and label your activity (e.g. "Posted by …").
  • Pins you post: the property details you enter — location, price, photos/videos, specifications, and an optional contact name and phone number. Pins are public by design (that's how people find them), but your phone number is only shown if you choose to include it.
  • Messages: chats you send through PropPin are stored so both sides can read the conversation. We don't sell or mine them.
  • AI assistant: what you type to the assistant is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to understand your request. Don't paste sensitive personal information into it.
  • Contact form & Telegram bot: messages you send us via the contact form or the Telegram bot are shared with our team so we can respond or review the submission.
  • Usage basics: anonymous view counts on pins and standard technical logs from our hosting providers. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
  • On your device: we use localStorage for preferences — theme, chosen city, saved pins, and which pins you've viewed. This stays in your browser.

What's public

Active pins (including their photos, price, area and the display name on them) and your public pins page are visible to anyone, including search engines. Closed, expired or deleted pins are removed from the map. Your email is never public; your phone number appears only if you typed it into a pin yourself.

How we use your data

  • Run the map, chat, search and posting features.
  • Send email notifications — new messages on your pins and matches for your requirements. You can switch these off anytime from the account menu ("Email notifications").
  • Review reports of spam or abuse and keep the map trustworthy.
  • We do not sell your personal data, and we don't charge brokerage.

Services we rely on

Your data is processed by the infrastructure we build on: Supabase (database, auth and file storage), Google (sign-in, maps and place search), Anthropic (AI assistant), Resend (email delivery), OpenStreetMap (map tiles) and Telegram (if you use our bot). Each receives only what's needed for its job.

Retention & deletion

Pins expire from the map automatically after 45 days unless renewed, and you can close or delete your pins anytime from My Pins. Deleting a pin removes it permanently. To delete your entire account and its data, write to us via the contact form and we'll action it.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your data, and withdraw consent for email notifications, at any time. We aim to honour the principles of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP), 2023. For any privacy request or question, use the contact form — privacy requests get priority.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above and note it on the site. Using PropPin after a change means you accept the updated policy.
